Weight Watchers costs €25 a month if you live in Ireland. You join through its Europe (English) site, which is only for residents of the European Economic Area, and that site sells one plan, Core. The UK site has more plans, and lower monthly prices for longer commitments, but its membership agreement says they are currently not available to residents of Ireland. Each fact about Weight Watchers here comes from its own plans pages and membership agreements, and the list of sources below gives the date it was read.

What Weight Watchers costs

Core is the plan all three Weight Watchers sites sell, and its price depends on where you live and, in the UK and the US, on how long you sign up for.

  • In Ireland and the rest of the European Economic Area, Core costs €25 a month, sold as a monthly plan, the only plan length listed.
  • In the UK, Core costs £20 a month on a one-month plan, £15 a month on a three-month plan or £10 a month on a twelve-month plan.
  • In the US, Core costs $24 a month on a one-month plan, $18 a month on a three-month plan or $12 a month on a twelve-month plan.

The US twelve-month plan is $12 a month for the first twelve months only, after which it renews for another twelve months at the regular price. On the Europe site, Core renews automatically at the end of each plan period, at €25 a month, until you cancel. If the price goes up, the Europe agreement promises at least 30 days' notice by email, and an increase starts only from your next billing period.

What Core includes

The Europe plans page describes Core as the Points programme, nutrition guidance, personalised Modes that adapt to your goals, an AI Body Scanner for tracking progress beyond the scale, a member community, and recipes and everyday tools. Its table of what the membership includes adds 12,000 recipes, macro tracking, a members-only social network, activity integration, sleep tracking, a Weight Health Score and fitness content, and there are versions of the Points programme for people living with diabetes and for breastfeeding. It all runs in an app for iOS and Android.

Coaching and workshops are not on the list for Core in Europe. The UK site sells them, and they come with Core+, the next plan up.

What the UK plans add

The UK site sells Core, Core+ and Med+, and Core and Core+ both cost less a month on a longer plan. Core in the UK comes with two weeks of free access to coaching and workshops. Core+ costs £28 a month on a one-month plan or £21 a month on a three-month plan, and it adds unlimited coaching, workshops and peer support, a GLP-1 Companion programme with side-effect support and medication tracking, and a tailored menopause programme covering perimenopause to post-menopause.

The UK plans page says a twelve-month plan renews for another twelve months at the end of the term. It also says you can cancel at any time, and the cancellation takes effect at the end of your commitment, so a twelve-month plan is a year's commitment, whatever the monthly price.

Med+ adds clinical care. In the UK it costs from £109 a month and includes a consultation with CheqUp, weight-loss medication if you are eligible, clinical care and virtual visits with a clinician, with CheqUp's clinical team deciding eligibility and any treatment after an assessment. In the US, Med+ costs $25 for the first month of a six- or twelve-month plan, then $74 a month on the twelve-month plan or $84 a month on the six-month plan, with the medication itself not included. If you are weighing up weight-loss medication, talk it through with your GP first, since they know your history and can tell you whether it suits you.

Cancelling Weight Watchers

If you join online through the Europe site, you have 14 days from the day you order online to cancel under your legal right of withdrawal. After that, the Europe agreement says you can cancel at any time from the Help section of the website or the app, and the cancellation takes effect within 72 hours. It also says a cancellation made inside a committed period takes effect from the end of that period. The agreement adds that if you cancel near the end of a billing period and are charged for the next one, customer services will reverse the charge, unless you use your membership during that next period.

What TriageFit coaches, food first

TriageFit puts your food and your training in one plan. The intake takes about half an hour, and you can save it and come back later. From your answers it sets a calorie target matched to your metabolism, and from then on your macros adjust each week from what your check-in shows. You log the food you already eat against those targets, your protein is spread across the day, and the meals you eat most weeks can be saved with their macros, ready to log again.

The same intake builds your training. It asks about your goal, the training you have done before, any injury you are working around, the equipment you can use and the days you are free, and the programme comes in phases of four to six weeks that our coaches wrote, cycling for as long as you stay. Each session is filled from 382 exercises to fit your kit and your level, anything that would aggravate an injury is left out, every exercise has coaching cues, and the main lifts have video.

Your check-in is due on the day you pick, and the sessions you logged are already in it. You rate your energy, recovery, motivation, sleep and stress, add a note if you want to, and a reply comes back within seconds. A real coach reads it too. When you are unsure about a lift, you film a set and a coach reviews it.

The AI coach is there at any hour. Tell it a session will not fit your day and it proposes a shorter one, a swapped exercise or a different day, and the change goes in when you confirm it. You also belong to a group with coaches in it, where questions to the coaching team are answered in the open, and you can join the group's challenges.

Progress is measured on more than the scale. The body page keeps your weight beside your waist, hip and chest measurements and your progress photos, and it puts the longer trend ahead of any single weigh-in. If you wear a tracker, you export your data from Apple Health, Garmin, Whoop, Oura or Fitbit and upload it, and your recovery readings shape how hard each session asks you to work.

Eighteen months of counting Points

A civil servant in Limerick has been with Weight Watchers for eighteen months, counting Points and walking at lunchtime, and the food habits have stuck. Lately the scale has barely moved, and they want to start lifting without giving up what has worked. They join TriageFit, and in the intake they put down the adjustable dumbbells in the box room, a lower back that stiffens after the drive to Dublin, and their free Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings.

Their programme puts three sessions on those mornings and leaves out the exercises that would aggravate the back. In the first week they save the four lunches they eat on rotation, with their macros. In the third week a meeting in Dublin takes their Thursday, so they tell the AI coach, it proposes moving the session to Friday evening, and the move goes in once they confirm it. At the Sunday check-in the Friday session is already listed, they rate their stress high and add a note about the drive, and the reply is back within seconds. A coach reads the check-in, and on the body page they log their waist beside their weight.

What TriageFit costs

TriageFit costs €50 every 4 weeks, with VAT included, or €500 for a year. The same 4 weeks cost £45 in the UK and $55 in the US. Core on the Europe site costs less, at €25 a month. The block plan has no contract, you can cancel whenever you choose, and you can pause for one to three months if you are injured or away.

Which one suits you

Weight Watchers suits someone who wants a points system for their food, a big library of recipes and a community, all in an app, and in Ireland it is the cheaper of the two. In the UK, Core+ adds coaching and workshops, which Irish residents cannot buy. TriageFit suits someone who wants their training built from their own answers, their food coached beside it and a real coach reading every check-in, for €50 every 4 weeks.

How to start

Choose a plan on the pricing page, create your account and pay, and the intake opens. Weight loss coaching explains how your targets follow what your weight does, and the weekly check-in walks through what you send each week and the reply you get. Online personal training follows a full week of the coaching, and what a personal trainer costs puts TriageFit's price beside an hour with a trainer in a gym.
