What Noom costs, from one month to a year

Noom Weight is priced in US dollars, from $70 for one month to $209 for twelve months, before tax, and every plan renews automatically until you cancel. Its help pages say a one-to-one coach is not part of every plan, and in the US, Premium is the add-on that brings one, charged on top. TriageFit costs €50 every 4 weeks, and for that it builds your training from your answers, coaches your food beside it and has a real coach read every check-in you send.

Noom's shortest plan costs $70 for one month and its longest costs $209 for twelve months, in US dollars and before any taxes or discounts. The plan it recommends is personalised from your answers to its sign-up quiz, and its pricing page adds that the price can vary a little with promotions and with whether you sign up in the app or on the website. In Ireland, the App Store lists Noom as a free download with in-app purchases, rated for ages 18 and over, and the listing gives no euro prices, so the figures here are the dollar ones from Noom's pricing page. Everything this page says about Noom was read on its own support pages, its terms of use and its App Store listing, and the sources at the foot of the page carry the dates.

What Noom costs

Noom Weight, the programme the pricing page covers, is sold for a length of time you choose. It costs $70 for one month, $129 for two months, $159 for three months, $179 for six months or $209 for twelve months, and the pricing page lists a price for every length in between. Twelve months cost about three times as much as one, so the annual plan comes to about a quarter of the monthly plan's price for each month.

Noom's terms say the prices it displays exclude taxes, so any tax that applies where you live comes on top. Every plan is billed automatically and renews until you cancel it, and a plan you have not cancelled in time renews at the price in effect on the day it renews. The terms also say Noom can change its prices, refund policy and billing methods at any time, subject to any notice the law requires.

What the plans include

The Irish App Store listing describes AI food logging with calorie and macro tracking, step tracking with rewards, body scans, meal plans and recipes, more than 1,000 fitness, stretching and meditation classes in Noom Move, daily lessons on psychology, habits and behaviour change, and communities it calls Circles. It also lists optional one-to-one coaching, and Noom's help pages say not every programme includes a one-to-one coach, and without one your support comes through Welli, its AI chat, which can pass some questions on to its team of Noom Coaches. That team is reached through Welli, and does not reach out first, set goals, check in regularly or offer open-ended coaching conversations.

Premium is the add-on that brings a coach of your own. It is offered at sign-up to new members in the US using iOS or Android, and it includes direct messaging with a one-to-one coach, personalised meal and exercise plans, and round-the-clock answers from Welli, Noom's AI assistant. It is also charged separately from Noom Weight, so you see two charges. The coach sends a welcome message and video on the first day and a goal check-in on the third, then gives weekly support on a day you agree together, and Noom says coaches reply within 24 hours on business days, Monday to Friday.

The help pages also say one-to-one coaches cannot give clinical or medical advice, act as licensed nutrition or mental health professionals, adjust your calorie budget or help with billing, and Noom's terms say its coaches are not licensed medical professionals, and what they say is not medical advice. Meal and exercise plans are part of Premium or a separate add-on, depending on where you live, and members outside the US get one reusable meal plan, built from the preferences you give in a short survey after you buy.

What costs extra

Add-ons are billed separately from the main programme, on their own billing cycle. Noom's billing page lists Premium, meal and exercise plans, Pendulum supplements, course enhancements and a Withings smart scale, with availability depending on your region and app version.

The pricing page says medication is not included with any Noom Weight plan. Noom Med is a separate programme, and Noom's page on upgrading says not everyone qualifies for it, and availability varies by location. It also says upgrading ends your Noom Weight subscription straight away and starts the Med programme. If you are thinking about weight-loss medication, start with your GP, who has your medical history and can say whether it is right for you. Noom's own terms ask you to talk to your doctor before starting Noom or any health or wellness service.

Cancelling Noom and getting a refund

You can cancel in the app, under Settings and Manage Subscription, on the web in its Subscription Portal, or through the App Store or Google Play if you subscribed there. To stop the next charge, the terms say to cancel before 11.59pm US Eastern time on the day before your next billing date, and after you cancel, you keep every feature until the current billing cycle ends. Noom's help page adds that uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription.

On Noom Weight, a refund may be available if you ask within 14 days of your first charge, and renewal charges are not refundable. If you cancel after a renewal, the subscription stays active until the end of that billing cycle. The terms add that there is no refund or credit for a partly used billing period, although Noom may make one case by case. Noom's billing page also warns that if you finish your programme while the subscription is still active, billing carries on until you cancel, and that once the paid programme ends, what is left is the free version of the app, without coaching, courses or other subscription features. The free version keeps select lessons, movement tracking and, depending on where you live, meal logging.

What TriageFit coaches, training first

TriageFit opens with an intake of about half an hour, and you can save it partway and come back to finish it. It asks what you want from training, what you have done before, the equipment you have, any injury you are working around and the days you are free. Your programme follows from those answers, in phases of four to six weeks that our coaches wrote, and a new phase starts as each one ends for as long as you are a member. Sessions draw on 382 exercises, chosen to suit your equipment and your level, and any exercise that would aggravate an injury you told it about is kept out. Every exercise carries coaching cues, and the main lifts come with video.

Food is coached in the same account. The intake gives you a calorie target matched to your metabolism, and your check-in moves your macros each week. You log what you normally eat against those numbers, your protein is split across the day, and a meal you eat most weeks can be saved with its macros.

Once a week, on the day you choose, your check-in is due. The sessions you logged are already filled in, you give a rating for your sleep, stress, energy, motivation and recovery, and there is room for a note. A reply comes back within seconds, and a real coach reads the check-in as well. If you are unsure of your technique on a lift, you can film a set for a coach to review.

Between check-ins, the AI coach answers at any hour. When a session does not fit the day you are having, it can offer a shorter version, a different exercise or another day, and nothing changes until you confirm it. You are also part of a group with coaches in it. Questions to the coaching team are answered there in the open, and the group runs challenges you can join.

The body page is where progress shows. It keeps your weight beside your waist, hip and chest measurements and your progress photos, and it leads with the trend over weeks rather than any one weigh-in. If you wear a Garmin, Whoop, Oura or Fitbit, or keep your data in Apple Health, you export the data and upload it, and your recovery readings adjust how hard each session asks you to work.

A year of logging, then a kettlebell

A shop manager in Galway has used Noom for a year, reading the daily lessons and logging every meal, and the eating habits have stuck. What they want next is to get stronger, on a programme that builds from one week to the next. They join TriageFit, and in the intake they put down the kettlebell and resistance band they keep at home, a knee that aches on the stairs, and the Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings they have free.

Their programme puts a session in each of those three slots and leaves out the exercises that would aggravate the knee. They keep logging their food, now against the calorie target from their intake, and in the first week they save the three dinners they cook most, with their macros. In the second week they film a set of kettlebell swings, and a coach reviews it. In the third week a late delivery keeps them at the shop on Thursday, so they tell the AI coach they have half an hour, it proposes a shorter session, and the shorter one goes in once they confirm it. At their Sunday evening check-in the week's three sessions are already listed, they rate their sleep low and mention the late delivery in the note, and the reply is back within seconds. A coach reads the check-in too, and on the body page their waist measurement sits beside their weight.

What TriageFit costs

TriageFit costs €50 every 4 weeks with VAT included, or €500 if you pay for the year. In the UK the same 4 weeks cost £45, and in the US they cost $55, which is less than Noom's one-month plan, although Noom's plans of three months or more cost less for each month, before tax. There is no contract on the block plan. You can stop when you like, and if an injury or a trip gets in the way, you can pause for one to three months.

Which one suits you

Noom suits someone who wants daily lessons on habits, a food log and a large library of classes in one app, and it costs less for each month the longer you sign up for. In the US, Premium adds a one-to-one coach for an extra charge. TriageFit suits someone who wants a training programme written around their equipment, their injuries and the days they have free, food coached in the same account, and a coach who reads each weekly check-in, for €50 every 4 weeks.

How to start

Choose a plan on the pricing page, create your account and pay, and the intake opens. Weight loss coaching sets out how your food targets move with your results, and the weekly check-in shows what you send and what you get back. If you are comparing prices, what Weight Watchers costs goes through its plans the way this page goes through Noom's, and what a personal trainer costs sets TriageFit beside paying for sessions with a trainer.
