What a fitness podcast can earn from its listeners
A fitness podcast can earn from sponsors, listener support, live events, its own coaching and affiliate links, and its listeners spend hours with your voice every month. The TriageFit affiliate programme turns that trust into a monthly income, paying 10% of every payment a listener you refer makes for as long as they stay subscribed.

The usual answer to how to monetise a fitness podcast is sponsorship, and sponsorship tends to arrive once the download numbers are large enough for a brand to buy. In the meantime you have something most creators would envy: listeners who spend an hour or more with you every week, often while they are training. The ways of earning that suit a podcast are the ones that make use of that trust, and the practical problem to solve is that nobody can click a link they only heard.
How fitness podcasts earn
- Sponsorships. A brand pays for a read during the episode, usually priced on downloads and on how well your listeners match its customers.
- Listener support. Some listeners pay for bonus episodes, an ad-free feed or a membership, through whichever service you host it on.
- Live shows and events. Recordings in front of an audience, workshops or meet-ups that listeners pay to attend.
- Your own coaching and products. Programmes, plans or coaching offered to listeners who want more than the episodes give them.
- Affiliate links. A share of what listeners spend through your links, paid once per order or, when the product is a subscription, on every payment.
What makes podcast listeners different
A listener who has heard fifty episodes knows how you train, how you think and what you are like when you disagree with a guest, which is more than most followers of a social account ever learn. When you mention what you use, it lands as a recommendation from someone they know. The catch is timing: they hear it mid-run or mid-session, with no way to act on it there and then, so the job of a podcast link is to still be easy to find when they sit down later.
Getting from a mention to a click
Put your referral link in the show notes of every episode where you talk about how you train, and on the episode's page if the show has a website. Say on air where the link is, briefly and in the same place in each episode, so regular listeners learn where to look. At live recordings and events, the QR code from the link toolkit does the same job on a printed card or a slide, and it carries its own tag, so you can see what the event brought in.
Tag each episode's link separately in the toolkit, or use the podcast tag it suggests for all of them, and the Campaigns panel on your dashboard shows which episodes are sending people. The panel called "Where people stop" then shows how many of those clicks turned into signups and how many kept paying.
What TriageFit pays for each listener who joins
When a listener joins through your link, you earn 10% of every invoice they pay, starting with the first and lasting as long as their subscription does. Every affiliate is on the same rate, and it is worked out on what the listener pays, with nothing deducted for tax or processing fees first. A block-plan listener earns you €5 every 4 weeks, or €65 in a year, and an annual-plan listener earns you €50 at each renewal. If a payment is refunded or charged back, its commission is reversed.
Credit goes to the last link a listener clicked, provided they sign up within 60 days of that click and then pay. After a 30-day hold each commission becomes payable, and Stripe Connect pays you every month once your payable balance reaches €20.
What listeners are joining
A listener who follows your link joins a coaching membership at €50 every 4 weeks or €500 a year with VAT included, the same price as joining any other way, and gets the whole service in one plan. Their programme comes from their own intake, in phases our coaches designed, and their food targets change as their weekly check-in shows progress. A real coach reads each check-in too, coaches review the form-check videos members send, and the AI coach is there at any hour, including between episodes.
Disclosure and the rules
Tell listeners on air that you earn a commission when they join through your link, and say it again in the show notes. TriageFit's terms let you share the link on your own podcast, and they rule out spam, bidding on TriageFit's name in paid ads and any claim about the product that the site itself does not make.
How to join
Apply on the affiliate page with your name and email, without needing a TriageFit account. A sign-in link arrives by email, your referral link is ready in your dashboard, and you connect Stripe to receive payouts. Monetising a fitness newsletter covers a channel that pairs well with a podcast, and fitness affiliate programmes compares the programmes open to creators.
Questions people ask
- Can listeners use a discount code instead of a link?
- No. An affiliate link carries no coupon, so there is no code to read out, and listeners pay the listed price, the same as joining directly. The link in your show notes is what credits a listener to you, which is why it helps to say on air where to find it.
- What if a listener hears the episode but joins weeks later?
- Hearing the episode is not enough on its own, because the credit comes from a click on your link. A listener is credited to you when they sign up within 60 days of clicking it and then pay, so keeping the link in every episode's show notes gives them a way back whenever they are ready.
- How do I know which episodes send listeners?
- Give each episode's link its own tag in the link toolkit, or use one podcast tag for the whole show. The Campaigns panel on your dashboard splits your clicks by tag, and the panel called "Where people stop" shows how many clicks became signups and how many signups kept paying.
- Do I need a large audience to join?
- No. The affiliate programme has no minimum audience, and the question about audience size on the application form is optional. Every affiliate earns the same 10%, so a small show with loyal listeners is paid at exactly the rate a large one is.
