Earning from a fitness newsletter your readers trust
A fitness newsletter can earn from sponsors, a paid tier, its own products and affiliate links, and its readers chose to hear from you, which makes a recommendation there unusually well received. The TriageFit affiliate programme pays 10% of every payment a reader you refer makes, for as long as they stay subscribed.

If you are working out how to monetise a fitness newsletter, you already have the thing most creators on social platforms are chasing. Your readers asked to hear from you, the issue lands in their inbox rather than a feed, and nobody's algorithm decides whether they see it. Those readers are the audience most likely to act on a recommendation, which shapes which ways of earning suit a newsletter best.
How fitness newsletters earn
- Sponsorships. A brand pays for a mention or a section in an issue, usually priced on the size of your list and how many of your readers open it.
- A paid tier. Some readers pay a monthly or yearly subscription for extra issues or deeper content, which means writing that extra content on schedule.
- Your own coaching and products. Plans, programmes or coaching offered to readers who already like how you think about training.
- Affiliate links. A share of what readers spend through your links, paid once for each order or, where the product is a subscription, on every payment.
Why a newsletter suits a recurring referral
A newsletter reader has usually been reading for weeks or months before they act on anything, so when they do join something you recommend, they know what they are signing up to and why, and with a recurring commission every month they stay is another payment to you. A referral in a newsletter also gets more than one chance, because a line that sits in every issue is seen again every week by the readers who are not ready yet.
Where the link sits in a newsletter
Three placements cover most of it. A standing line near the end of each issue, saying what coaching you use and that you earn when a reader joins, keeps the link in front of readers without taking over the issue. An occasional issue about how you plan your own training gives the link its full context. And a reply to a reader who writes in asking what you use is often the most effective placement of all.
What TriageFit pays its affiliates
Each reader who joins through your link and pays earns you 10% of every invoice, from their first payment until their subscription ends. The rate does not change with the size of your list, and it is taken from the amount the reader pays before any tax or processing fees. A reader on the block plan pays every 4 weeks, earning you €5 a payment and €65 a year, while a reader on the annual plan earns you €50 on each renewal. A refunded or charged-back payment takes back the commission it earned.
Readers are credited to you on the last link they clicked, as long as they sign up within 60 days of that click and then pay. Commissions are held 30 days and then paid out monthly through Stripe Connect once your payable balance reaches €20, with no invoices to raise.
What your readers are joining
Your readers would join a coaching membership at the price anyone pays, €50 every 4 weeks or €500 a year with VAT included, with no tiers and the whole service in one plan. Their programme is built from an intake about their own goals, history, injuries and equipment, in phases our coaches designed. A short weekly check-in rebuilds the week ahead and is read by a real coach, food targets adjust as their weight trends, and the AI coach answers at any hour.
Using the toolkit for a newsletter
The link toolkit has ready-made copy labelled "Longer post or newsletter", which you can adapt into your own voice rather than paste in whole. It also has three guides made to be handed out, a High-Protein Meals Cheat Sheet, a 4-Week Strength Primer and a Recovery Checklist, and sharing one with readers gives them something useful straight away. Tag your newsletter link newsletter, or give the standing line and each dedicated issue a tag of its own, and the Campaigns panel shows which placement is sending readers, with "Where people stop" showing how many became signups and kept paying.
Disclosure and consent
Say plainly in the issue that you earn a commission when a reader joins, and send the link only to readers who signed up to hear from you. TriageFit's terms rule out spam and bulk unsolicited campaigns, so a bought list or cold email is off limits, and they ask you to make no claim about the product that the site itself does not make.
How to join
Apply on the affiliate page with your name and email, and no TriageFit account is needed. A sign-in link is emailed to you, your referral link is ready in the dashboard, and connecting Stripe lets you be paid. Monetising a small fitness audience covers the options that work for a smaller list, and fitness affiliate programmes compares the programmes open to creators.
Questions people ask
- How big does a newsletter need to be before a referral link is worth it?
- There is no minimum. Your readers chose to hear from you, and a recurring commission keeps paying on each reader who joins for as long as they stay, so even a small list can build a steady monthly amount over a year.
- Can I send my referral link to my whole email list?
- To readers who signed up to hear from you, yes. The terms rule out spam and bulk unsolicited campaigns, so the link belongs in the newsletter your readers chose to receive, not in a bought list or in cold emails to people who never asked.
- Can I give readers one of the guides from the toolkit?
- Yes. The toolkit has three guides made for handing out: a High-Protein Meals Cheat Sheet, a 4-Week Strength Primer and a Recovery Checklist. Sharing one gives readers something useful straight away and a natural reason to mention the coaching behind it.
- Which currency will I be paid in?
- You earn in the currency each reader is billed in, and each currency's balance is paid out separately, monthly and automatically through Stripe Connect once it reaches the payout minimum. The calculator on the affiliate page shows estimates in euro, pounds or US dollars.
