Coaching for women over 40 who want strength and energy
TriageFit works as a personal trainer for women over 40 who want to get stronger and have more energy for the rest of their life. Your programme is fitted to your week and your recovery, your nutrition targets adjust as your results come in, and a real coach reads every weekly check-in. It costs €50 / 4 weeks.

After 40 the reasons for training usually shift. Strength matters more, for the years ahead as much as for how you look, and energy becomes the thing everything else depends on. The week has also filled up, with work, family and often parents to look after, and recovery does not bounce back the way it did at 25. A personal trainer for women over 40 has to coach the training, the food and the recovery as one plan, around a life that is already full.
A programme fitted to your week
Your intake takes about thirty minutes and can be saved partway. It covers your goals, what you have done before, injuries, how your week actually runs and the equipment you can reach. Its short health screen covers your heart, your blood pressure and any prescribed medication, and a few answers, such as chest pain during exercise, mean the programme is held until your GP clears you to exercise and you confirm that clearance on your plan page, with your GP as the person for anything medical. The programme is chosen from shapes our coaches wrote, filled from a library of 382 exercises to suit your level, your equipment and anything you told us about, and it runs in coach-designed phases of four to six weeks that keep cycling for as long as you train.
Strength that keeps building
The heart of the programme is lifting that progresses, because muscle and strength are what training after 40 protects. Progressive overload tracking records every set you log, so the record shows whether each lift is moving. Every exercise has coaching cues, the main lifts have video, and a coach reviews the form-check videos you send, which is especially useful if you are learning to lift for the first time.
Recovery comes first
The effort each session asks for adjusts to how you are recovering. Sleep regularity and quality are tracked beside your training, and stress and nervous-system check-ins sit in the same place, so a week of broken nights or a hard stretch at work is on the record before the next week is planned. If you wear a device, you can upload an export from Apple, Garmin, Whoop, Oura or Fitbit and your resting heart rate and heart-rate variability feed into your daily readiness.
Perimenopause and menopause
If you are going through perimenopause or menopause, your weekly ratings for energy, recovery, sleep and stress give the coaching a running picture of how you are feeling, and your next week is planned with them in view. Cycle-aware coaching is there if you still track a cycle. For symptoms, HRT or any other treatment, your GP is the person to see, and the coaching works alongside whatever you and your doctor decide.
Food that supports the training
Your calorie target is matched to your metabolism and your macros adjust from week to week as your logged food and weight show a trend, whether your goal is fat loss, building or holding steady. Protein is spread across your day, which matters more with every decade, and meals you eat often can be saved with their macros, so logging fits around a busy week. A long stretch of dieting is detected and a diet break offered.
Mobility and warm-ups
Before a session you can run a short warm-up circuit matched to what that session trains, working in any tight areas you flag. A separate mobility programme, built from a short movement screen, works on your stiffest ranges and progresses as they open up.
A week that bends around your life
When the week fills up, the AI coach can shorten a session, move one to another day or cut back the number of days you train, and when you are ill it can take the week off. Each change is a proposal you confirm. For pain, it proposes a swap that works around it and tells you when a physio should see it.
The weekly check-in
On a day that suits you, the check-in takes a few minutes, with your logged sessions already filled in. You add how the week went, an optional weigh-in, a win and your five ratings. A coaching message arrives within seconds, your next week is rebuilt from it, and a real coach reads the same check-in.
A term of training
Say you are 46, with a desk job, two teenagers and a mother who needs lifts to appointments. You have three mornings a week and a sore lower back after long days sitting. Your intake records all of it. The first phase builds the main lifts with the movements that aggravate your back left out, and the warm-up works your hips before every session. In a week of broken sleep your ratings drop and you ask the AI coach to ease off, confirming the lighter week it proposes. By the end of the second phase your log shows every main lift climbing and your energy ratings steadier than when you started.
What it costs
Everything is in one plan at €50 every 4 weeks or €500 a year, VAT included, and you can pause or cancel from inside the app. Online and in-person training compared sets out the trade-offs.
Getting going
Pick a plan on the pricing page, set up your account and pay, and your intake opens straight away. Online coaching for women covers the wider picture, and a personal trainer for over 50s looks further ahead.
Questions people ask
- Is it too late to start lifting weights after 40?
- No. The intake records your experience, and the programme is filled with exercises suited to your level and equipment, with coaching cues for every one and video for the main lifts. A coach reviews the form checks you send, so you learn the movements properly from the start.
- Does the coaching take menopause into account?
- Your weekly ratings for energy, recovery, sleep and stress give the coaching a running picture of how you feel, and the effort each session asks for adjusts to how you are recovering. For symptoms or treatment such as HRT, your GP is the person to see.
- What if I only have three mornings a week?
- Tell the intake, and your programme is built around the days you have. If your week changes later, the AI coach can move sessions or change the number of days you train, each as a proposal you confirm.
