What Wellhub costs a company, and what its staff pay

Wellhub pricing has two sides, and a company comparing it with anything else needs both. The company pays for access to the network, and each employee who joins subscribes to a monthly plan of their own. Wellhub, which was called Gympass until May 2024, publishes prices for the company side only in the US, so an employer in Ireland or the UK finds the employee prices on its pages and a route to a quote for the rest.

The company side, as Wellhub prices it in the US

Wellhub's pricing page for companies names three company plans in the US, called Entry, Full and Premium, and each carries a starting price per employee.

Wellhub says those prices are worked out from its pricing for enterprise clients, with the actual price varying by the size of your workforce and the service you choose, so what a company pays depends on its headcount and the plan it funds. Its page for US companies describes a corporate fee based on team size and chosen investment level, which gives the whole eligible workforce access to the network, and says the company and the employee both contribute. Wellhub also says employees can move to any plan above the one their employer funds, at a discounted rate.

How a company in Ireland or the UK gets a price

Wellhub's pricing page for Ireland describes annual business plan rates based on team size and investment level, paid month to month, and its UK page uses the same words. Neither shows a figure per employee, and the way to one is a custom quote from its sales team. For an Irish or UK buyer, the company's side of the cost arrives with the quote, and a budget line or a comparison with a second supplier has to wait for it.

What employees pay each month

On the employee side, Wellhub's Irish pricing page says employees register, download the app and subscribe to a monthly plan that fits their needs and budget. The paid plans run from €9.99 a month for Starter to €149.99 a month for Platinum in Ireland, each shown as a starting price, and the Digital plan is €0.00 a month in Ireland, with access to 10 wellness apps. The UK list adds a Diamond plan and runs from £9.99 a month for Starter to £199.99 a month for Diamond in the UK, each shown as a starting price. The Irish page also mentions adding qualifying family members, where the employer provides for it.

What any one employee ends up paying depends on the plan they choose and what the company puts towards it, and that is settled in the company's own agreement with Wellhub rather than on the public pages.

What the network gives people

Wellhub's network takes in more than 110,000 gyms and studios, 3,800 virtual personal trainers and more than 90 wellness apps, counted across every region it covers. Its Irish page for companies also lists one-to-one virtual personal training, offered as wellness coaching, and its US page mentions integrations for admin management, enrolment tracking and payroll. For someone who already trains, that is a wide choice of places to go and apps to open, and for a company it is one benefit that reaches staff in many towns.

What a coaching seat pays for

A TriageFit seat buys the coaching itself. Each seat is a full membership held by one person, funded by the company, with nothing for that person to pay. They complete an intake of about thirty minutes covering their goals, their training history, any injuries and where they train, and their programme is built from it in phases our coaches designed, four to six weeks long and cycling for as long as they train. The programme suits the place they train, whether that is a commercial gym, a home gym, outdoors or bodyweight with no equipment at all.

Food targets are matched to their metabolism and adjust each week. Once a week they check in, which takes a few minutes, a coaching message about the week comes back within seconds, and a real coach reads the same check-in. Between check-ins the AI coach answers at any hour, and any change it makes to the plan is a proposal the person confirms.

The company sees who holds a seat and, in its report, group figures with anything below five people held back. How often any one person trains, what they eat and what they write in a check-in stays with them.

The two side by side

A team of forty, priced both ways

Take a software company in Cork with forty staff, where about half say in a staff survey that they would use a fitness benefit. A Wellhub figure for the company side would come from its sales team, and each person who joined would then choose a plan, with the company and the employee sharing its cost as the agreement sets out. For coaching seats, the HR lead opens the calculator, prices 25 seats at €450 each, €11,250 for the year with VAT included, and knows the figure before speaking to anyone. The company tells staff in its own announcement that a seat is optional and that it sees only the roster and group figures, and the people who asked for one accept their invitations and start their intakes that week.

What the seats cost

Seats are sold as a pack for a twelve-month term, priced per seat with VAT included, and the whole pack takes the price of the band its size falls in, which in euro is €500 a seat for 10 to 24 seats, €450 a seat for 25 to 49 seats, €415 a seat for 50 to 99 seats and €375 for 100 or more. The smallest pack of 10 seats comes to €5,000 for the year. A company billed in sterling pays £450 a seat for 10 to 24 seats, £405 a seat for 25 to 49 seats, £375 a seat for 50 to 99 seats and £340 for 100 or more, and one billed in US dollars pays $550 a seat for 10 to 24 seats, $495 a seat for 25 to 49 seats, $455 a seat for 50 to 99 seats and $415 for 100 or more. Payment is by card, or by SEPA direct debit when the pack is billed in euro, and seats added during the term are charged pro rata.

How to start

The calculator on the business page prices a pack in euro, sterling or US dollars before anyone signs in. Packs of up to 50 seats are bought online and the portal opens when checkout completes, and a larger team uses the enquiry form, where a real person replies by email with a quote and the rollout steps.
